It is a busy weekend for Relay For Life Of Stratford! A Luminaria Sale and good food!

We will have a table setup this weekend at the Stratford Shop-Rite located at 250 Barnum Avenue Cutoff from 9 am to 12 pm. Come purchase and decorate a Luminaria bag for $5.00 in honor or in memory of someone you care about. Your Luminaria Bag will be placed around the track at our event on Saturday, June 18th to Sunday, June 19th at Bunnell High School and be part of our Luminaria Ceremony. We will have plenty of supplies on hand to decorate your bag. You can bring a picture to put on the bag but remember the picture will be outside overnight. We also cannot guarantee the picture will be returned. You also have the option of bringing the bag home to decorate but remember you will have to bring it to the field day of the event.

Relay for Life of Stratford has teamed up with Jake’s Wayback Burgers for a day of dining excellence. If you go to Jake’s Wayback Burgers on Sunday, April 24, 2016 between 1pm and 7 pm a portion of the proceeds from your purchases will benefit Relay For Life of Stratford. Team Angels of Hope will also be selling football ornaments at the event.

At Relay For Life people form teams and fund raise up to and day of the event. On the day of the event we Party with a Purpose. We have bands, food trucks, a raffle for some great baskets, games and activities and lots of fun for a great cause!!! Teams set themselves up around a track with tents, etc. and their on-site fundraiser. One person from the team walks the track at all times during the event (that's the relay part). For the Survivors we have a reception, because survivors are the Heart of Relay. If you are a survivor please sign-up online at relayforlife.org/Stratfordct and we can send you an invitation. At this event, our survivors are showered with food, entertainment, guest speakers and gifts. The opening ceremony is held after the survivor dinner begins with a lap done by the survivors and their caregivers. The rest of the night is a night of walking or running, entertainment, comradery, and reflection. Please come support us on the day of our event all are welcome!
