The Stratford Library has announced that the CTWorks Career Coach, a career center on wheels designed to deliver career services and training opportunities at a variety of locations throughout Connecticut, will present a one-day workshop, “Write a Great Resume”, on Monday, August 26 from 10 am to 3 pm including lunch break. The Career Coach delivers free services to low-wage workers and job seekers in Southwestern Connecticut who are unable to get the services at local career centers due to lack of transportation, childcare or employment schedules.
Topics covered in the workshop include the definition of a great resume, what details need to be included, what are the different types and when to use them, how to use a MS Word template to create a resume and how to create one’s own chronological resume. The final product can be saved to a flash drive or as an email attachment. Participants can also sign up to use one of the Stratford Library's PC's to submit their resume for a job application.
“Write a Great Resume” is free and limited to ten participants. Advanced registration is required by calling the Stratford Library at 203.385.4164 or email: ask@stratfordlibrary.org.
