Local Historian to discuss "History of Bridgeport" at The Watermark at 3030 Park

Richard Sattanni, lifelong Bridgeport resident to discuss local history and culture

On Wednesday, May 20th, The Watermark at 3030 Park will host a free lecture on the history of Bridgeport presented by local historian and author Richard Sattanni. The discussion will take place 3:45pm at the senior living community, located at 3030 Park Avenue on the Bridgeport-Fairfield town line.

“Our residents have lived through many historical changes and events,” said Marlane Argianas, Resident Services Coordinator for The Watermark at 3030 Park. “We thought it would be of great interest to offer a local take on the history of our city and are excited for Richard – who has lived in Bridgeport his whole life - to present his perspective on the Park City.”

Sattanni, who grew up in the The Hollow section of Bridgeport, will discuss the history of local culture including entertainment venues such as The Palace & Majestic Theaters and The Ritz Ballroom, a popular cabaret, jazz, and swing nightclub. The lecture will also cover the history of area parks and recreation attractions, including Pleasure Beach.
