Man Charged With Burglarizing Home, Stealing Car: Stratford PD

The man was arrested after trying to run away from police.

STRATFORD, CT — A Stratford man was arrested after a foot chase Tuesday in connection to a recent residential burglary and stolen car in town, according to police. Marcus Vereen was approached by investigators on Burritt Avenue for an active arrest warrant, according to Capt. Frank Eannotti.

Eannotti said the warrant was for Vereen’s connection to a residential burglary and stolen car that occurred on Marcroft Street on Aug. 7. Vereen tried to run away from police but was quickly apprehended, according to Eannotti. To sign up for Stratford breaking news alerts and more, click here.

Vereen was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny and third-degree larceny. He was held on a $30,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 31.
