A Good Samaritan boat in the area directed firefighters to the man and worked with emergency personnel to bring the man aboard the fire department’s vessel, according to Camperlengo. Stratford Emergency Medical Services provided assistance when the vessel reached the Birdseye Street boat launch ramp, said Camperlengo, who was unsure late Thursday afternoon of the extent of the man’s injuries.
The fire department has two vessels available at all times for water rescues, according to Camperlengo.
