Man Sentenced To 20 Years For Rape Of 12-Year-Old From Stratford
Reginald Sharp had previously been convicted of sexual assault involving a child in a separate case.
STRATFORD, CT — A repeat sex offender was sentenced Thursday to 20 years for the rape of a 12-year-old from Stratford who he met on social media, according to the Connecticut Post. Reginald Sharp, 34, of Bridgeport, pleaded guilty to sexual assault and several other charges, said the Post, which reported Sharp's two decades in prison will be followed by 20 years on special parole.
The rape happened in July near the apartment complex where the girl lived, according to the Post. Sharp met the girl on Snapchat, convinced her to send him nude photos and blackmailed her, the Post said. Sharp has previously been convicted of sexual assault involving a child in a separate case and pleaded guilty in June to not registering as a sex offender, according to the Post.
