Man Sentenced In Fatal Shooting In Stratford: Report

The man was sentenced in connection with the killing of a Stratford resident.

STRATFORD, CT — A 30-year-old Bridgeport man was sentenced to 22 years in prison in connection with the fatal shooting of Jalen Parilla, 37, in Stratford 2021, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Post reported Miguel Rojas was accused of stalking Parilla, who was the new boyfriend of Rojas' former girlfriend, before shooting him.

Rojas, who was initially charged with murder, pleaded no contest to first-degree manslaughter with a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm. He was also sentenced to five years of probation following the prison term, and fined $5,000, according to the Post.
