Janet L. (Scielzo) Anderson, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, after a long illness. Janet was born on September 16, 1946 in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late Jerry and Jeanette (Zielinski) Scielzo.

She graduated from Bunnell High School in Stratford, worked in retail for many years and was a long-time Naugatuck resident.

Janet loved ceramics, tag sales, spending time with family and friends and the company of her cats, especially Rosie. She was affectionately known as "Cioci" by all.Janet was predeceased by her brother, Salvatore Scielzo Sr; her nephew, Salvatore Scielzo Jr; and her beloved son, Robert Anderson Jr.

She is survived by her sister, Patricia (William) Hughes; her grandson, Robert Anderson III, both of Naugatuck; her sister-in-law, Patty Brannigan of MT; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and caregivers.Visitation will be on Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 2 to 3:30pm at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.
