Obituary: John C. Blundo, 93, of Stratford

John was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II and worked as an engineer at Sikorsky for many years.

John C. Blundo, 93, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Doris Palumbo Blundo, died on Sunday, April 9, 2017.

Mr. Blundo was born in Bridgeport, CT on June 19, 1923 to the late George and Maria Raniolo Blundo. He served our country honorably during WWII as a US Army Veteran and worked as an engineer at Sikorsky for many years.

Survivors include his daughter, Judith Toohey of Orange, three grandchildren; Kyle Toohey and his fiancé Christina Smith of Orange, Brendan Toohey of Stratford, and Sean Toohey and his wife of NH, his sister, Mary Criscione of Fairfield, brother-in-law, Harold Riccio of Milford and several nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. Mr. Blundo is predeceased by his son-in-law, Thomas Toohey, his sister, Jenny Baglieri and brother, Carl Blundo.

Friends are invited to attend A Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY in St. Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford. Interment will follow in St Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.
