Obituary: Joseph Cremin, 66; Army Veteran, Retired Stratford Assistant Fire Chief
Cremin served the town of Stratford for 33 years.

Joseph D. Cremin, 66, of Stratford, beloved husband of JoAnn Doherty Cremin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on May 26, 1949, he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Mary J. Olson Cremin.
Cremin was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era and a graduate of the U. S. Army Recon School. Before his retirement, Joe was an Assistant Fire Chief for the Town of Stratford with 33 years of dedicated service.

He was a member of the VFW Post 9460 in Stratford, the Germania Schwaben Society, the American Legion, an active volunteer at St. Margaret Shrine of Bridgeport and a driver for the Pyramid Shriners Motor Patrol of Stratford.
He was predeceased by his wife Regina Marchetti Cremin. In addition to his beloved wife JoAnn, survivors include four children, Joseph P. Cremin and his wife Paige of Sarasota, FL, Bethann Gusitsch and her husband Douglas of Duxbury, MA, Scott Bogdany and his wife Jessica of Madison, MS and Jason Bogdany and his wife Marissa of Lindenhurst, NY, brother, Robert Cremin and his wife Caroline of Stratford, sister, Kathy M. Cremin of Milford, step children, Dawn Barrett and her husband Michael and Jodi Gorlo and her husband Brian, all of Stratford, twelve grandchildren, Ethan and Lincoln Cremin, Jacob, Eli and Noelle Gusitsch, Marissa, Hailee, Jamie and Travis Bogdany, Sara Barrett and Katherine and Gracie Gorlo, special cousins, Bobby Horkheimer and his wife Julie of Stratford as well as several additional cousins, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to meet directly in St. James Church, 2070 Main St., Stratford on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06604.
