Obituary: Sandra Morris, 59, of Stratford

Known for having a caring and warm heart, talkative nature and good sense of humor, Sandra was a joy to be around.

Born Sandra Jeanartta Jefferies, 59, of Stratford, CT; she suddenly passed away from cardiac arrest on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital.

Sandra was born December 11, 1956 in Yukon, West Virginia to the late Geneva Early and Johnnie Jefferies. She grew up in West Virginia and moved to New York City as a teenager. Sandra graduated from Monroe College and achieved her degree in Computer Science. She also worked at Bank of America for more than 25 years as a CHIP coordinator responsible for handling multi-million dollar international and domestic wire transfers.

Sandra was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses at a very early age. As an active member of the Congregation in Stratford, CT, Sandra enjoyed attending and participating in meetings at the Kingdom Hall and sharing her Bible-based faith with her grandchildren and everyone she encountered. She also enjoyed reading the Bible and Bible-based publications and learning about creation. All of that helped her develop a solid relationship with Jehovah God.

Known for having a caring and warm heart, talkative nature and good sense of humor, Sandra was a joy to be around. She showered her grandchildren with attention, love and laughter. She found creative ways to entertain them, leading to many fond family memories. She also enjoyed knitting and making blankets and all types of clothing for her family and close friends. Sandra touched everyone with whom she interacted with. She was known to converse frequently with others. She talked very highly about all her children in whom she was so proud that they achieved higher education and have excellent careers.

Her loyalty and faithfulness to her Creator, right down to the end of her life, epitomized the true Christian faith, setting an example worthy of imitation. Sandra will be missed greatly by her family and fellow believers, all of whom eagerly look forward to seeing her again after she is resurrected in Paradise.

Left to cherish Sandra’s memory, she is survived by her loving son Sean Morris and his wife Julie Morris of Lavergne, TN; her beloved daughter Lekeisha Garvin and her husband James Garvin of Stratford, CT; her loving daughter Tamika Williams-Cabrera and her husband Thereston Cabrera of Stratford, CT and her beloved daughter Ieshia Spearing and her fiancée Emmus Crawford of Bridgeport, CT. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren Kristenia, Seana, Jayden, Sean, Alyssa, Devin, Kamara, Asia, Aliyah and Aleynna, her 9 siblings Johnnie, Marc, Anthony, Victor, Linda, Georgetta, Kimberly, Vanessa and Latasha and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister Samantha Jefferies. Donations may be sent to the Stratford Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3016 Main St, Stratford, CT 06614.

The hours of visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Dennis & D’Arcy – Abriola – Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford. Following the visitation a funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 3016 Main Street, Stratford CT. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
