Obituary: Valerie Cologgi, 79, of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT - (From Pistey Funeral Home) Valerie Cologgi, age 79, died peacefully in her home of Stratford, Connecticut on September 7th, 2021.

She was the beloved wife to Eugene Cologgi, to whom she was married to for almost 60 years. Valerie was born in Bridgeport, CT, on March 30th, 1942 to her late parents Dorothy and James Fitzpatrick.

Valerie worked in the registrar office of Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT for over 20 years and dedicated her time helping students graduate.

Her passions included gardening, crossword puzzles, and crocheting as her blankets were adored by those who received them.

However, her greatest passion was her time spent with her family as she was a loving and generous wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Valerie was a proud mother to her children John Cologgi and Susan Cologgi, and daughter-in-law Lisa Cologgi.

She was an adored grandmother or “Nana” to her three grandchildren Haley, Paige, and Hannah. She also leaves behind her two siblings Dorothy Martino and James Fitzpatrick, and their spouses Kenneth Martino and Diane Fitzpatrick.

She will be deeply missed to all those who loved and knew her. Friends may greet the family on Thursday, September 16th from 5 PM to 8 PM at Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford, CT, 06615.
