These free events are designed to raise awareness of mental health as a part of overall wellness and to promote getting an annual mental health checkup as a preventive measure, according to the Southwest Regional Mental Health Board (SWRMHB), organizer of this county-wide initiative. Stratford Community Services is the local partner for this initiative, which is supported financially by Purdue Pharma, L.P. and the CT Health Foundation.

Screenings in English and Spanish are also available online at www.HealthyMindsCT.org. Visitors to the site can take a self-assessment for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, alcohol use, or eating disorders. Parents can use an online tool to screen for depression in their teenager.
