Opposition Shoots Down Rumors of Stratford Mayor's Resignation
DTC Chairman Len Petruccelli, who expressed interest in running if Republican Mayor John Harkins resigned, quashes rumors.

While rumors circulated around Stratford Town Hall earlier in the week that Republican Mayor John Harkins would be resigning soon, the chairman of the Democratic Town Committee has shot down those rumors, according to the Connecticut Post.
Len Petruccelli told the Post that Harkins “is not resigning” in response to a leaked internal Stratford Democratic Town Committee email that stated Petruccelli would seek the mayor’s seat in the event of a special election following a resignation.
Petruccelli felt he needed to send out the email to the SDTC because other Democrats have been talking about running for the mayor’s seat and soliciting support around town, according to The Stratford Star.
