Overdose Victim Saved By Stratford Emergency Responders
The victim was alert and talking by the time she arrived at the hospital.
STRATFORD, CT — Stratford first responders recently worked together to save an overdose victim. Crews with emergency medical services and the fire department responded to a report of a 48-year-old who had overdosed, and found the woman was not breathing and had no pulse, according to a Facebook post Sunday from Stratford EMS.
Police had already given her a dose of the opioid antidote Narcan, and EMS and fire officials started CPR and mechanical ventilation, while more Narcan was administered, according to the Facebook post. The victim's condition improved and she was alert and talking upon arrival at the hospital.
"This is the way the system is supposed to work and everyone worked together in concert toward this fantastic shared goal," the Facebook post stated.
