Painter featured in solo art exhibition at Winemaker's Boutique

Bridgeport-based painter Suzanthea Michel featured in solo exhibition at Winemaker's Boutique

Painter and printmaker Suzanthea Michel will be the featured artist at the Winemaker's Boutique's solo art exhibition this Friday, May 17th, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is the second in a series of art and wine appreciation events at the shop. The Winemakers Boutique is located at Station House Square, 2505 Main Street, Stratford (across from the Metro North Train station).

Michel is a Connecticut-based artist working out of 305 Knowlton Studios in Bridgeport. She is currently working on a continuing series of nightscapes inspired by coastal New England architecture and scenery. Her images are captivating, and lure the viewer into the shadows of the night. 

Michel is a current an active member of the Stratford Arts Guild and has exhibited throughout Connecticut. She who received her BFA from Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in 2010. After school she went on to intern at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk, CT. Although her main medium is oil, she enjoys printmaking, egg tempera, graphite and ink as well. 

The Winemakers Boutique will offer samples of both red and white wine (made at the shop) and carefully selected delectables designed to make your experience of viewing, appreciating and tasting art, enjoyable and unforgettable!

The Winemakers Boutique is dedicated to the art of making good quality wine.  The shop opened its doors on October 12, 2012, offering customers a unique experience of making their very own, personalized wine using all the latest tools, equipment, and climate-controlled fermentation room.  Customers brew and bottle their favorite vino under the guidance of shopkeeps Deborah and William Alletzhauser (wine maker and member of the American Wine Society and the Stratford Arts Guild).
