Passed-Out Bus Driver Accused Of Snacking On THC Gummies: Report
The bus driver suddenly passed out on I-95 in Stratford while driving 38 passengers home from a trip to the casino, according to a report.
STRATFORD, CT — A Boston bus driver who suddenly passed out on I-95 in Stratford while driving 38 passengers home from a day at the Mohegan Sun casino was arrested Monday in connection with the March incident, according to the Connecticut Post.
The Post reports Jinhuan Chen, who was charged with 38 counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, was found to have a high level of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, in his blood stream after snacking on a bag of what he said he thought were gummy candies. There were no injuries in the incident.
Police found Chen unconscious in the driver’s seat with an open bag of “Smokies Edibles Cannabis Infused Fruit Chews” next to him on the day of the incident, according to the Post.
