Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Suspected DUI Driver In Stratford: Police
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver in Stratford, according to police.
STRATFORD, CT — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver Thursday in Stratford, according to police.
Stratford police responded to a report of a female pedestrian struck and killed by a motorist that was driving west on Lordship Boulevard, according to Lt. Robert Burroughs.
Burroughs said the striking vehicle came to rest over the town line in Bridgeport. Officers from both departments responded to assist with the investigation. The initial investigation determined that the accident was initiated in Stratford, according to Burroughs.

The driver was identified as 32-year-old Daniel Camacho of Bridgeport, according to Burroughs.
Camacho was arrested and charged with operating under the influence. He was held in lieu of a $250,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.

Burroughs said the investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.
The victim is a 25-year-old Stratford resident whose identity hasn’t been released by police.
“Our heart goes out to the victim’s family,” Burroughs wrote in a news release. “The Stratford Police Department is working diligently at conducting a thorough investigation so the family and loved ones can have closure, nothing further at this time.”
