Man With Weapons Surrenders To Stratford Police: UPDATE
The situation temporarily closed a road in Stratford on Friday afternoon.

STRATFORD, CT — In a Friday afternoon update, Stratford Police say a despondent man was armed with at least two weapons during the situation on Quail Street earlier in the day. Police responded to a residence on Quail Street after a woman reported that her boyfriend was “making irrational statements and he was armed with at least two weapons,” according to Capt. Frank Eannotti.

“He did so without incident and no one was hurt during the call,” Eannotti said. “At this time the scene is still under investigation and no charges have yet been filed.”

The man was transported for evaluation, according to Eannotti.

STRATFORD, CT — A police situation that temporarily closed Quail Street has been resolved and the road will reopen soon, Mayor Laura Hoydick said on social media. Hoydick previously alerted residents to a “police matter” on Quail Street and advised nearby residents to stay inside their homes.
The Connecticut Post reports the situation involved a man who barricaded himself inside a house.
