Red Devils Pull Another Upset, Advance to Class L Quarterfinals

Consecutive upsets against Middletown and Avon set up tonight's showdown against Northwest Catholic.

Two exciting upset wins, the first and then again Wednesday against ninth-seeded Avon, have propelled the Red Devils into the quarterfinals of the Class L boys basketball state tournament.

As reported by the Stratford Star, the Red Devils, who started the tournament seeded 25th, will next face top-seed Northwest Catholic tonight in West Hartford at 7 p.m.

The Devils are hoping to repeat triumphs in 2008 and 2010 when Coach Paul Dudzinski previously guided them to state championship titles.
