Stephen Spignesi To Speak on November 15.

The Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford, will host author Stephen Spignesi for an illustrated “Meet-the-Author” program about novelist Stephen King on Saturday, November 15 at 2 pm. Entitled “Stephen King & The Art of Darkness”, Spignesi’s program is free and open to the public.
University of New Haven Practitioner in Residence Stephen Spignesi – christened “the world’s leading authority on Stephen King” by Entertainment Weekly – is the author of six books about King and has taught the course, “The New Gothic Horror of Stephen King” at UNH for several years. For the Library program his talk will cover King’s complete body of work beginning with very rare, unpublished juvenilia and continuing through King’s college writings and his first short stories to his breakout novel, “Carrie”. The presentation will also include details on King’s life, as well as his brief time in Stratford, his novels, short stories and the epic Dark Tower series along with the finest film adaptations of King’s work. Spignesi will then present an extensive and exclusive slideshow of memorable Stephen King images and moments.
“Stephen King & The Art of Darkness” will be held in the Lovell Room of the Stratford Library beginning at 2 pm on November 15. Autographed copies of Spignesi’s books about King will be available for purchase following the program.
