Stratford 4th of July Fireworks 2018 Traffic Information
Stratford Police announce traffic information for the upcoming 4th of July Fireworks show.

STRATFORD – The Town of Stratford’s annual Fourth of July Fireworks will take place at Short Beach Golf Course on Tuesday evening, July 3. The fireworks, sponsored by IBEW Local 488, will commence at sundown, approximately 9 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
There will be no bicycles, golf carts, scooters, mopeds or dogs allowed at the event, according to Stratford Police. When the beach parking spaces are full, Short Beach be shut down to traffic. Overflow parking has been set up at the Army Engine Plant property across from the main entrance to the airport, according to police.
To accommodate the flow of traffic there will be road closures, parking bans and detours during and after the fireworks.

“The Stratford Police Department advises all residents and guests to be aware of this temporary inconvenience and everyone’s cooperation is appreciated to make this year’s event both safe and fun for all,” Capt. Frank Eannotti said in an email.
Town officials are also asking residents to observe and note the following:

- Short Beach Golf Course is closed all day on July 3, due to Fireworks Display assembly in that area.
- No bicycles will be allowed in the complex after 4 p.m. per Stratford Police Department.
- No one will be allowed on the Golf Course area as that is the location for fireworks discharge.
- Fireworks will be discharged shortly after dark.
- Parking is also available at the Army Engine Plant - South Parking Lot directly off of Main Street.
- No golf carts or other motorized equipment is allowed on the beach per Stratford Police Department.
- Only Sponsor Parking by Special Permit will be allowed at the Golf Course Parking Area.
- Short Beach cul de sacs with beach access will be closed at 8 p.m. to protect environmentally sensitive areas and habitats.
