Stratford Shocks Middletown in First Round Upset
The Red Devils sunk seven threes on their way to a 66-57 win in the first round of the Class L tournament Monday night.

The 25th-seeded beat the 8th-seeded Middletown Dragons in the first round of the Class L boys basketball tournament Monday night, the Middletown Press reports.
The final score, 66-57, was not indicative of the domination the Red Devils had in the game, according to reporter Jim Bransfield. With four minutes to play in the fourth quarter, Stratford was on top 56-38.
A despondent Middletown coach attributed the loss to poor shooting, Bransfield reported. The Dragons shot 34 percent while the Red Devils sunk seven threes.
