The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Keeping Stratford affordable while continuing to provide the services our residents are accustomed to is a priority. This is done with responsible economic development and effective use of our geographic uniqueness as a coastal town. Over the past two years, I worked to update our Tax Incentive program that brings new businesses to Stratford. Supporting the arts and maintaining a high-quality education system are additional priorities that are important in keeping young families in Stratford.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Restoring civility to our Town Council has played an important role in why we have been successful at growing our local economy, decreasing taxes, and improving our school system. Working together as a team and with Mayor Laura Hoydick we have shown we can move Stratford in a positive direction.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My roles as a parent, an environmentalist and administrator have perfectly transferred to the responsibilities of Town Councilor. My common sense perspective and approach enables me to work collaboratively in an effort to accomplish town goals.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
Stratford is my home town. I have always enjoyed taking an active role in my children's activities from PTA positions to scouting leader to working in the various school offices. As a current Town Councilor, I enjoy giving back to my home town and am proud of the accomplishments we've made as a team over the past two years.
