Stratford Coronavirus Update: 5 More Deaths Reported
As of Friday, 24 Stratford residents had died after contracting the new coronavirus and there were 351 confirmed cases in town.
STRATFORD, CT — Five more Stratford residents have died after contracting the new coronavirus, the mayor's office reported Friday, bringing the total number of virus-associated fatalities in town to 24, up from 19 as of Thursday.
"Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the families and loved ones of those lost in our community," Mayor Laura Hoydick said Friday in an email to residents.
As of Friday, Stratford had 351 confirmed cases of the virus, according to Hoydick, an increase of 25 confirmed cases compared to Thursday. The mayor's office reported 56 percent of residents who had contracted the virus were recovered or recovering.

Statewide, there were 16,809 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus, 1,036 of which were associated with the death of a patient, according to state data.
