Stratford Coronavirus Update: 6 More Deaths Reported
More than 40 Stratford residents had died as of Wednesday after contracting the new coronavirus.
STRATFORD, CT — An additional six deaths associated with the new coronavirus were reported Wednesday by the mayor's office, bringing the total number of Stratford residents who had died after contracting the virus to 42.
"Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the families and loved ones of those lost in our community," Mayor Laura Hoydick said in an email to residents.
There were 526 confirmed cases of the virus in town as of Wednesday, according to the email, a day-over-day increase of six cases.

The state of Connecticut reported another 79 new coronavirus-related deaths Wednesday along with 455 more confirmed cases. Hospitalizations dropped for the seventh straight day with 41 less patients.
The state had a total of 26,767 positive cases, 2,168 deaths and 1,691 hospitalizations as of Wednesday. Nearly 95,000 people had been tested.
