Stratford Dispatcher Identified as Victim in Fatal Crash: UPDATE
The Stratford community is mourning the loss of the veteran emergency dispatcher, who died in an early Monday morning crash.

STRATFORD, CT — Veteran Stratford emergency dispatcher Laura Price has been identified as the victim in Monday’s early morning crash on Main Street at Paradise Green in Stratford.
The Connecticut Post reports that Price had just finished working a double-shift and was heading home when her car veered off the road and crashed into a tree shortly after midnight. She was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where she died a few hours later from the injuries sustained in the crash.
The Stratford Professional Firefighters IAFF 998 union posted a tribute to Price on Facebook on Monday afternoon, calling her a “professional, courteous dispatcher who helped countless people during her years dispatching emergency services in the town of Stratford.”

“Most of all, she was a good friend to everyone she met. The Stratford Firefighters will miss your calm, reassuring voice on the radio. Thank you for always having our backs Laura...you'll never be forgotten,” the post read.
Prior to taking the full-time job in Stratford, Price worked as a volunteer firefighter in Shelton and later as a part-time dispatcher, according to the Post.

Shelton firefighters also mourned her loss, calling Price a “great mentor and a great friend.”
“Laura Fee Price will be missed by all who have ever been touched by her great personality and great sense of humor,” the Shelton Volunteer Fire Company #4 Pine Rock Park posted on Facebook. “As a young kid tagging along with her father at the firehouse she was always a joy to have around. She aspired to be a fireman like her father and her brother and put over 15 years into the Pine Rock Park fire department.”
Justin Sabatino, captain of the Shelton Volunteer Fire Company #4 Pine Rock Park, wrote a tribute to Price on Facebook, saying, “I will miss you, you were always that little girl in pig tails with that firecracker energy running around the firehouse on Sunday mornings with your dad. You joined and earned the respect of all the members a true member who put others first.”
Price, 35, of Seymour, worked as a dispatcher for Stratford for eight years, and the Town Council held a moment of silence in her honor prior to Monday night’s meeting, according to the Stratford Star.
Price is survived by her 9-year-old son Ethan and her husband, William Price, according to the Post.
Funeral services have yet to be announced.
The crash remains under investigation.
