Stratford DUI Driver Crashes In McDonald’s Drive-Thru: Milford PD
Police say the driver nearly struck an officer while fleeing from the accident scene.
MILFORD, CT — A Stratford man was arrested after police say he was operating under the influence and nearly struck an officer while fleeing from the scene of an accident in the McDonald’s drive-thru early Saturday morning in Milford. Police responded to a report of an accident in the drive-thru lane of McDonald’s, located at 439 Bridgeport Avenue, at about 12:45 a.m. on March 16. The offending vehicle quickly left the parking lot after seeing police arrive on the scene, according to Milford Police.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle but it continued out of the parking lot and nearly struck an officer, police said. The vehicle eventually stopped on Bridgeport Avenue after it was blocked by patrol units. Police said the operator, identified as 45-year-old Robert Sutton IV, refused to provide a breath sample.
Sutton, of Horace Street in Stratford, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, evading responsibility and interfering with arrest. He was issued a $500 bond with a court date of April 11.
