Stratford Emergency Responders Honored for Efforts in Saving Lives in Recent Calls

Stratford EMS crews and members of the fire department were recently recognized by Bridgeport Hospital for their efforts.

STRATFORD, CT — Bridgeport Hospital recently honored Stratford EMS crews and Stratford firefighters for their efforts in helping to save the lives of two patients in recent emergency calls.

Two EMS crews and some firefighter crews were recognized with “Certificates of Excellence” in a recent ceremony during EMS Week for their outstanding performance on these calls.

Paramedic Leigh Goodman and her partner Wendi Lawless, EMT, were recognized for responding to a call on April 25 where a 46-year-old male suffered from severe burns to his airway.

Through their professional dedication and critical thinking skills they were able to successfully manage this patient’s injuries, officials said in a press release. The patient survived the event with a good outcome.

Paramedic David Rodriguez and his crew of Beverly Hill, EMT, and Ralph Arnone, EMT, were recognized along with Stratford Fire Department members Lt. John Roberts, FF Richard Barry, FF Jason Leng and FF David Montemerlo for saving the life of a 71-year-old female patient in cardiac arrest due to an airway obstruction.

“Stratford EMS would like to congratulate all the award recipients on a job well done!,” officials said in the press release.
