Stratford Man Accused of DWI On Route 35: New York State Police

LEWISBORO, NY — New York state police said they removed 11 impaired drivers from public roadways in Dutchess, Putnam and northern Westchester counties over the June 29 weekend. Among them was a Stratford resident.

On June 28, 2019, State Police from SP Lewisboro arrested Ilia Demiraj, 67, of Stratford, Connecticut, for Driving While Intoxicated. He was traveling on State Route 35 in the town of Lewisboro, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, police alleged.
