Stratford Man Caught Trying To Break Into Business: Milford PD

An undercover police officer was instrumental in helping to make the arrest.

MILFORD, CT — A Stratford man is accused of stealing keys from a repair shop/dealership and then coming back to try and burglarize the business, Milford Police said Friday.

On March 7 at 9 p.m. Milford Police received a report that a Bridgeport Avenue Vehicle repair shop/ dealership had been broken into and two sets of vehicle keys had been taken, but no vehicles were missing, police said.

Utilizing an undercover officer, Milford Police was able to set up and observe the business throughout the evening and midnight shift, police said. At 2:15am, a male matching the original suspect description returned to the business and once again entered the building, police said.

Officers surrounded the building and found the male to be hiding in a box truck on an adjacent property, police said. Officers took custody of Brandon Jones, 26, of Audi Lane in Stratford, who was found to be in possession of the two stolen keys from the earlier break-in, police said.

Burglary 3rd
Larceny 6th
Criminal Trespass
Criminal Mischief

Jones was held on a $10,000 bond.
