Stratford Man Charged With Operating Drug Factory: PD

Detectives found several pounds of marijuana, a kilogram of ecstasy and multiple other drugs at the man's residence, according to police.

STRATFORD, CT — A Stratford man out on bond was charged after law enforcement officials found thousands of dollars worth of drugs and firearms at his residence, according to police.

Stratford police and Drug Enforcement Agency officials worked together to apprehend Edward "CJ" Johnson, 31, as he left his residence Tuesday.

Johnson was apprehended after a brief foot chase. Officials executed a search warrant at his residence and found several pounds of marijuana and one kilogram of ecstasy with an estimated street value of $50,000, according to police. Detectives also found 75 grams of methamphetamine, OxyContin and Adderall pills and a high-capacity gun magazine.

He was charged with possession with intent to sell narcotics, possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, operating a drug factory, tampering with evidence and possession of a high-capacity magazine.

Johnson is on probation and has six pending cases; he was out on $665,000 total bonds. He was unable to post $750,000 bail for his most recent charges.
