STRATFORD, CT — A Stratford man faces 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges in connection with the kidnapping and torturing of an 18-year-old girl for six weeks after she bailed him out of prison, according to the Connecticut Post.

The victim began corresponding with Banegas while he was awaiting trial in a criminal case, when police said she was convinced by Banegas that they could have a relationship if she got him freed from prison, and the beatings began after she met him at his home, the Post previously reported.
