Stratford Man Still In Hospital Weeks After Hit-And-Run
The victim works as a Bridgeport firefighter and has had half-a-dozen surgeries since the incident.

STRATFORD, CT — A Stratford man who is also a Bridgeport firefighter remains hospitalized weeks after a hit-and-run last month.
The 46-year-old is in stable condition, but has had half-a-dozen surgeries, according to Bridgeport Police Department Public Information Officer Terron Jones.
"He's still in the hospital," Jones said.

The hit-and-run occurred about 11:15 p.m. June 28 at Stratford Avenue and East Main Street in Bridgeport, according to a police department news release. The victim was crossing the intersection on foot and was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lanes. The vehicle turned northbound onto East Main Street, stopped briefly, then fled the scene continuing northbound, the news release stated.
The vehicle has been identified as a dark gray Toyota Corolla, possibly 2015, which should have sustained front-end damage and would be missing a drivers’ side rear-view mirror, according to the news release.
