Stratford Mayor Appoints New Chief Administrative Officer, Town Attorney

Fairfield Selectman joins Mayor John A. Harkins' administration.

Fairfield Selectman Chris Tymniak has been appointed as Stratford’s Chief Administrative Officer by Mayor John A. Harkins.

Tymniak, who lost his bid to unseat Fairfield First Selectman Mike Tetreau in the November election but secured enough votes for a spot on the Board of Selectmen, will begin his new role in Stratford on Jan. 19. Tymniak plans to keep his seat on the board, which is not salaried, according to the Fairfield Citizen.

Tymniak, a former Stratford resident, has previously worked for former Gov. M. Jodi Rell and most recently served as the Chief Administrative Officer for Ansonia.

“Chris Tymniak has municipal experience as a CAO and understands the issues and challenges of running a municipal government,” Harkins said in a statement. “Chris Hodgson has represented the town well for several years and is also familiar with Stratford. We are lucky to have people of their caliber willing to step up and serve our town.

“I’d like to thank Tim for his service to the Town of Stratford. He has always been mindful and generous in his civic duties and engagement. He is a friend and will be greatly missed. I wish him all the best with his future.”
