Stratford Mom in Critical Condition; Community Rallies Around Family

The mother is in a medically induced coma following an emergency C-section and a GoFundMe account has been launched in support of the family

STRATFORD, CT — The community is rallying around a Stratford family facing a long road to recovery as the mother is in a medically induced coma and is in critical condition after undergoing an emergency C-section last Saturday, according to a GoFundMe page created in support of the family.

The page, which was created by Meghan Esteva to help the family with medical costs, states that the baby, Luke, was listed in stable condition after being born on March 12 and was 3.6 pounds.

The mother, Brittany, was diagnosed with double pneumonia and was placed on a ventilator and put into a medically induced coma, according to the page.

More than $11,000 has been raised by 150 people (as of Monday afternoon) in support of the family.
