Enforcement actions by Stratford police from April 7 through 8.

On April 7, police were running registrations in the area of Broadbridge Ave. and Success Avenue when a check showed a car with an expired registration. The operator, Stephen Arsenault, 45, of Post Oak Road, could not provide police with any valid paperwork. He was charged with operating an unregistered vehicle, no insurance and an emissions violation. He was released on a promise to appear in court on April 19.

Also on April 7 in the same area, police stopped a car driven by Jonathan Makusevich, 28, of Edgewood Street, who was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle and released on a promise to appear in court on April 15. 

On April 7, police were in the area of Barnum Avenue and Main Street when a vehicle showed its registration was suspended. The operator, Robert Blake, 29, of New Haven, was charged with no insurance, operating with a suspended registration. He was released on a promise to appear in court on April 19.

On April 7, police stopped a vehicle on Barnum Avenue traveling fast and without a front plate. The operator, Thomas Kelly, 31, of Bridgeport, was charged with misuse of a marker plate, operating without insurance, no registration and failure to display a front plate. He was also given a warning for traveling too fast for conditions. He was released on a promise to appear in court on April 19. 

On April 8, police stopped a car in the area of Bruce Avenue and Graham Street with no front plate. The driver, Inez Luciuk, 34, of Bridgeport, said the vehicle was registered to her mother but that she is the one who drives the vehicle all the time. Luciuk was charged with operating with a suspended registration, no insurance and failure to display a front plate. She was released on a promise to appear in court on April 19.

On April 8, police stopped a car on Stratford Avenue for having a suspended registration. The operator, Portia Griffin, 36, of Bridgeport was unable to provide valid insurance paperwork for the car and was charge with operating with a suspended registration and no insurance. She was released on a promise to appear in court on April 19. 

On April 8, police stopped a Monroe man after a routine check of the vehicle he was driving showed the registration was suspended.  The operator, Andrew Telusmar, 21, was charged with no registration, no insurance, operating while under suspension and failure to return suspended registration. He was released on a promise to appear in court on April 18. 

On April 8 the mother of a teen driver was charged after the daughter was stopped on Broadbridge Avenue driving a vehicle with a suspended registration in the name of the mother. The driver, Rania Slaoui-Assadi, 18, of Kasper Circle, was stopped and told police she was returning home after attending classes at Bunnell High School. Police then visited the home and brought the mother, Sarah Saida Fikri, 44, to the scene. The stopped vehicle was registered to a Greenwich, CT, address. Fikri was charged with allowing operation of an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to change address on a registration and was released on a promise to appear in court on April 22. The teen driver was not charged, police said.
