Stratford Republicans Choose Candidate for Special Election
A special election will be held in February to fill the unexpired term of longtime State Rep. Terry Backer, who died on Dec. 14.
Stratford Republicans have selected former Board of Education member Susan Barksdale to face Democrat Joseph Gresko in the special election to fill the 121st District seat and unexpired term of longtime State Rep. Terry Backer, who died at the age of 61 on Dec. 14, according to the Connecticut Post.
The Post reports the Republican Town Committee picked Barksdale during a caucus on Sunday.
The special election will take place on Feb. 2.
