Stratford Residents Compete in Fairfield Half Marathon

More than 4,500 runners entered the Stratton Faxon Half Marathon in Fairfield on Sunday.

Tesfaye Girma of Ethiopia won the men's division with a time of 1:05:37 while Milaki Mejdoub of Morocco captured the woman's division, clocking a time of 1:17:47.

Several area runners turned in sterling performances including the following Stratford residents:

Rob Wynn, 26, who placed 81st overall with a time of 1:29:49 (6:52 mile)

Gabriel McCool, 39, who placed 100th overall with a time of 1:31:01 (6:57 mile)

Michael Ruospo, 48, who placed 152nd overall with a time of 1:35:33 (7:18 mile)

John Lee, 27, who placed 194th overall with a time of 1:37:17 (7:26 mile)

Thomas McCabe, 35, who placed 226th overall with a time of 1:38:34 (7:32 mile)

and Erica Mara, 34, who placed 448th overall with a time of 1:44:41 (8:00 mile)
