STRATFORD, CT — A robbery occurred Friday in Stratford, according to police. When asked about <a href="https://www.doingitlocal.com/2020/01/stratford-news-armed-robbery-10/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">a robbery Friday night on Bruce Avenue</a> reported by DoingItLocal.com, Capt. Frank Eannotti confirmed in an email that there was a robbery and that no one was hurt. The incident is under investigation, according to Eannotti, who did not provide additional details.

Taking the First Step to End Gender-Based Violence! Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® (WAM) is a fun and engaging community awareness event that serves to engage men and boys to take the first step (pun intended) to end violence against women and girls during Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Awareness Month. Funds raised from the walk will support Elizabeth M. Pfriem Camp HOPE America - Bridgeport, CFJ’s evidence-based summer camp and year-long engagement and mentoring program for young people ages 7-17 who have experienced the trauma of domestic and/or sexual violence. Please “Walk a Mile” to help a camper hike a mile this summer! Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® is produced by CFJ's Men Against Violence initiative, a group of male community leaders who collaborate with us to take a stand against abuse of women and girls. Everyone is welcome to participate! High heels optional.

All proceeds will be used to provide support to our non-profit organization, <a href="https://ashersanswer.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Asher’s Answer</a>, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide financial support to families of children with rare trisomies.
This year, there will be games and activities for children under age 13, so feel free to bring the entire family!!!
NOTE: For safety and security purposes, race participants must be at least 13 yrs of age. Children younger than that can still come and participate in various games/activities while their parents race, but cannot race. Infant and toddlers may race with their parents only if they are transported in strollers or strapped to parents (ie body carriers).
