Via Stratford Public Schools: STRATFORD, CT — Good afternoon Stratford Public Schools parents.

This past Monday, Sept. 23, at the Board of Education meeting, several parents expressed concerns about bussing issues in the district and specifically in the Stratford High School district. I would like to share with the parents and students and the community at large that we as elected volunteer members of the Stratford Board of Education hear your concerns. We all stand for the academic, social, emotional, and the safe wellbeing of all students that attend our schools.

The Superintendent and her team have been diligently reviewing bus routes, bus capacity, and
transportation policy as of Tuesday, Sept. 24. The ongoing communication with Durham Bus Services and the SPS administration will take a couple of weeks to determine how the concerns that were presented by parents can be addressed in the most beneficial way to augment the educational experience for all Stratford Public School students.

The members of the Board of Education and the Superintendent of schools continue to encourage civil discourse about the progress of our schools as we continue on this journey to endeavor to educate the students of Stratford for the future.
