STRATFORD, CT — Stratford’s free meal program for students now includes breakfast items.

The program, which is underway while students enrolled in Stratford Public Schools learn remotely as part of the effort to slow the spread of the new coronavirus, began offering cold breakfast items Tuesday that students can take home for the next morning, according to an email from the town. The items include cereal, cereal bars, toaster pastries and muffins.

Bagged lunches are also available during the meal pickup hour, which is 11 a.m. to noon every weekday while schools are closed. Gov. Ned Lamont has said the closures will continue until at least April 20.
