Stratford's Nora Anderson Helps Lead SCSU Lacrosse to First Win
The Owls cruised past Alderson-Broaddus on Tuesday.

Led by a potent offensive attack and solid goaltending from Stratford’s Nora Anderson, the Southern Connecticut State University women’s lacrosse team picked up its first win of the season with a 21-5 thrashing of Alderson-Broaddus Tuesday in West Virginia.
Kennedy Sherman finished with four goals and five assists, while Norwalk’s Jennifer McCarthy and Cheshire’s Emma Farrel each scored six goals apiece. Farrel also had an assist, while fellow Cheshire native Lauren Anderson scored twice.
McCarthy and Sherman scored the first four goals of the game before Alderson-Broaddus connected for its first goal. Three goals from Farrel, two from McCarthy and one from Sherman padded the advantage to 10-1.

The Owls (1-2) held a 16-2 lead at halftime and then outscored the Battlers by a 5-3 margin in the second half.
Southington’s Carolynn Keal added a goal while Nicole Healey (of Milford) scored twice and Taylor Portlelinha (Woodbridge) handed out an assist.

Anderson, a Bunnell grad, made six saves in the win.
