Team UNO Takes Sterling House JV Hoop Championship

Only a four point loss to the Heat late in the season kept Team Uno from going undefeated in the Sterling House high school basketball league's Junior Varsity division.

Team Uno wrapped up the championship with a 50-44 win over the third seeded Lakers.  Team Uno’s 6-0 run midway through the first half sealed the Lakers’ fate.

Alec Ward led the 13-1 Team Uno with fifteen points.  Jordan Jackson tallied eighteen points and Elijah Caserta had fourteen points for the Lakers.

The third seeded CT  Blazers knocked off the second seeded Dream Team and then stopped the top seeded Tropics to take the Varsity division crown by a 58-49 score.

Tyler Matakevich took game scoring honors for the CT  Blazers with fourteen points.  Matakevich played a strong game on the boards, denying the Tropics second shots.  Adam Samuel and Fernando Cerezo chipped in with ten points each for the winners.

Steve Maier hit four three pointers for his total of twelve for the Tropics.  Chris Scarpetti had eleven points and Johnny Amoroso had ten markers for the defeated regular season first place finishers.
