Teens Charged In Shakespeare Theater Fire To Get Plea Deal

In addition to charges they burned down the iconic venue, the trio is charged with fires in Stratford, Milford, West Haven and Southbury.

STRATFORD, CT — Three Stratford teens accused of burning down the American Shakespeare Theatre and in several other arson cases across the area will be offered a plea deal next month, according to the Connecticut Post.

The iconic theater, which opened in 1955 and had been visited by famous actors and actresses including Katharine Hepburn, was destroyed in the blaze Jan. 13, 2019. The theater largely stopped showing plays in the 1980s and there has been talk for decades about how to revitalize the historic property.

Christopher Sakowicz and Vincent Keller, both 18, and Logan Caraballo, 17, are charged with fires last January at the Shakespeare theater and the Southbury Training School; in February at a vacant house and at the old Bilco Co., both in West Haven; and in March at Good Earth Tree Care in Stratford and Silver Sands State Park in Milford, the Post reported.
