Two Roads and Sikorsky Historical Archives Celebrate the Life of Igor Sikorsky

On May 28th, Two Roads and the Sikorsky Historical Archives held a birthday party of sorts, honoring the life of aviation pioneer Igor Sikorsky, who would have turned 127 this year.

To celebrate, the Sikorsky Historical Archives displayed models of two aircraft and the helicopter that represented his three careers in aviation; the Russian period, early American years and the helicopter period. Two of Igor’s sons, Nikolai and Igor Jr., held a Q&A period in Two Roads’ event facility. The president of Sikorsky, Dan Schultz and his wife Laura attended the event which ended with the cutting of a birthday cake made for the occasion.

Two Roads every year honors Igor, who tested his first helicopter close by their facility, with a beer named Igor’s Dream. Aged in rye-whisky barrels, Igor’s Dream is a limited edition Russian Imperial Stout. 127 bottles from the 2014 vintage of Igor’s Dream were on sale during the event and the 2016 vintage was also on draft.
