Wanted Stratford Man Arrested After Traffic Stop: Naugatuck PD

Police say the man, who was wanted on a warrant out of New York, was found to be in the possession of drugs during the traffic stop.

STRATFORD, CT — A Stratford man, who was wanted on a warrant out of New York, was found to be in the possession of marijuana and heroin during a traffic stop Thursday evening in Naugatuck, according to police.

Michael Tanguay, 28, of California Street, was pulled over at about 5:40 p.m. on Dec. 6 on New Haven Road in Naugatuck. During the stop, police determined that he had an active arrest warrant out of New York. Police said he was found to be in the possession of marijuana and heroin.

Tanguay was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance or less than ½ ounce of cannabis and extradition arrest no warrant. He was held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 7.
