The Watermark at 3030 Park Hosts Board Certified Neurologist at Monthly Parkinson's Support Group

Caregivers and those living with Parkinson's invited to attend

On Thursday, May 14th, The Watermark at 3030 Park will host its monthly Parkinson’s Support Group meeting with guest speaker, Dr. Hamid Sami. The support group is open to anyone caring for or living with Parkinson’s disease. The group will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the senior living community located at 3030 Park Avenue on the Bridgeport-Fairfield town line.

This month’s guest speaker will be sponsored by US World Meds, a Kentucky-based specialty pharmaceutical company. Dr. Sami, a Neurologist and Chief of Neurology & Stroke Center Director at MidState Medical Center will lead this month’s support group speaking on the importance of neurological care. His discussion will focus on Cervical Dystonia, a common symptom of Parkinson’s where muscle spasms in the neck cause tilting of the head.

“We are privileged to have an expert like Dr. Sami come speak to our residents about his experience studying the human brain,” said Marlane Argianas, Resident Services Coordinator at The Watermark at 3030 Park. “We encourage the public and all those who are looking for support on this disease to attend and get involved.”
