STRATFORD, CT — A former employee of a Stratford company will serve prison time after stealing more than $130,000 from the business, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Susanna Kurus worked as an accounting manager at the company, and between late 2014 and mid-2017, she used company software to transfer customer credits to at least six personal debit card accounts, the news release said. Kurus, a former Connecticut resident who now lives in North Carolina, was sentenced to 30 days in prison, 60 days of home confinement, two years of supervised release and 100 hours of community service. She must also pay full restitution, the judge ordered.
Kurus, 44, pleaded guilty in March to one count of wire fraud, according to the news release.
