SUFFIELD, CT — Suffield residents looking for fireworks and July 4 events in 2026 have several nearby celebrations to choose from as communities mark Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary.
The Fourth of July falls on a Saturday this year, creating a long holiday weekend from July 3-5. Patch has put together a guide to fireworks, fairs and holiday events around Suffield, including celebrations in Hartford and Tolland counties.
In Suffield, the Suffield Summer Fair runs June 25-27 at Suffield Middle School, 350 Mountain Road, with fireworks scheduled for Saturday, June 27, at 9 p.m.

The 2026 Independence Day season is part of a nationwide commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the country’s 250th anniversary.
America’s Block Party is one of the national initiatives tied to America 250, the congressionally chartered nonprofit overseeing the semiquincentennial celebration.
A Times Square Ball Drop is planned as part of the “Giving 4th Broadcast Benefit Show,” with a rolling series of ball drops timed to midnight on July 3 in every U.S. time zone.
A time capsule will be buried in Philadelphia and opened in 2276. Organizers said it will include contributions connected to the federal government, states, Washington D.C. and U.S. territories.
Other national events include the Great American State Fair on the National Mall, the July 4 Salute to America Fireworks, “Sail 4th 250” in New York Harbor and Rushmore 250.
